“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 NLT
I will start by saying this: “YOU DO NOT WASTE EVERY DAY AND EVERY TIME, EXPECTING TO STUMBLE INTO OPPORTUNED TIMES AND SEASONS.”
It is not the day opportunity comes that we prepare. Opportunity must meet preparation, and this is why many fail—because they sit down every day of their lives waiting for opportunity without any preparation at all.
If anyone continues this same way of waiting for opportuned seasons without preparation, they will fail. It is our season of angelic assistance, yes, I know. But even the ministry of angels will not help you if you do not do anything with your season of preparation. Are you with me?
God announces men. For every great man of God you see today, like our G.S. (Rev. Dr. Olubusayo Folarin), who has been announced by God, they are not just a product of God’s announcement. They are also a product of the discipline of making wise use of their seasons of preparation. That is why they have triumphed over and over again in the name of Jesus.
Many of you are praying and praying, but what are you doing in your season of preparation while waiting for answers?
Let me use David as an example for us this morning. David took down Goliath with just one shot. The Bible never recorded that he did it more than once, which means David had spent his season of preparation doing what was needed. All he had to do was step into his season of opportunity with the name of Jesus.
Now, David said to Goliath: “I do not have all you have, but I come to you in the name that is above every other name.” Even so, David still needed to master the art of throwing that stone, and he must have done so in his season of preparation.
The name of Jesus was effective for David because he had used his season of preparation well.
Unlike some of us today, when the opportunity comes for us, we start sweating and calling the name of Jesus repeatedly, hoping for a breakthrough—because we did nothing in our season of preparation.
Let us be like David so that when our season of opportunity comes, we triumph in the name of Jesus at once.
Who is ready to make use of their season of preparation this morning?
