I would want you to go over the text above again, and digest it well before you proceed.
Just like myself, many will read this text and will be like, is it not the one with great riches and wealth men respect and regard the most? Or, is it now bad to have investments and great riches? Definitely not, I want you to remember that this statement is coming from no other than the greatest and richest man ever to live, King Solomon, as the Bible recorded.
His words, you can not disregard because he was evidentially filled with the wisdom of God. Godly character may not pay every day, but whenever it does, it pays bumper harvest.
Four policemen caught bandits on a stop and search operation in Taraba state, Nigeria, the bandits offered the four policemen N8.5m and they turned it down just to make sure the bandits got punished by the law. A good reputation is to be desired more than great riches.
If you were among the four policemen, would you have also agreed to reject the money despite the current hardship in the nation or you will be the one to fight others and even harm them just to make sure the money is yours?
Judas Iscariot’s reputation will still be heard and spoken of by generations to come as the man who chose money and betrayal to assist the Pharisees in arresting Jesus Christ, remember, his end was tragic. Personal integrity is more desirable than silver and gold.
You know within yourself that your character is nothing to write home about, you will eventually doom yourself and ruin your life if you go on with a foul character. Now, there is still hope, pray that God will change you by His word, reach out to godly people for help, and be intentional about becoming a better version of yourself.
Your integrity is your personal asset. The door that prayer opens, bad character can lock it up permanently. Lastly, godly character attracts favour.
