EAT MY FLESH

John 6:53 NKJV
Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

This is one of the statements that Jesus made that raised concerns, many struggled to understand it because they interpreted it with the flesh. No matter what God sends, if you receive it by flesh it will not profit you. The words of Jesus are spirit, your profit in receiving can only come when you receive it by the spirit.

I am sure when Jesus asked that his flesh be eaten and his blood drank, people wondered, does he want us to be animals? Even if we should be animals to satisfy him, should we be Carnivorous animals?

They reasoned in this manner because even though God has been saying the same thing from the days of Moses, they had a problem understanding it.

In the days of Moses, God sent bread from heaven for their preservation, they received it as manna and yet they died. God then decides, i will no longer send bread again, I will now become bread.

The same God that sent bread for preservation had to become bread so that as we eat of him, we may have eternal life.

You may wonder, why does Jesus want us to eat of him?

Jesus asked that we eat of him because he wanted to let us know that we have a part to play in our salvation. We have been saved by the grace of God but you respond to grace by faith. Salvation by grace without a response of faith is no salvation at all.

Jesus is saying, I am the bread of life, even though I give life, I would not choke myself on you, you have to make up your mind to come and eat. You have to decide to receive me, you eat of Jesus by having absolute faith in what Jesus did at the cross.

Jesus is calling us to eat of him personally, he is calling us to appropriate his life and his blood to ourselves and personalize it.

Anytime we come together for holy communion, asides that we observe the communion in remembrance of Jesus, it is also an opportunity to remember that a time came when we decided in our hearts to eat and drink of Jesus by receiving him by faith.

If you are hungry and there is bread but you are unwilling to eat, you will still die.

There is a bread on the menu that will make you live forever, the dinning is set, come in and eat of this bread.

You may be in sin, come and eat.

You may be into fraud, come and eat.

You may be a thief, come and eat.

You may be a hypocrite, come and eat.

There is a dinning set for you and there is still space for you, the dinning will not be open eternally, hurry up and come to this dinning and eat of Jesus

Do not behave like those in the days of Moses who received this same bread as a mystery and later died. Receive this bread by faith and live forever.

For as many who want to make this commitment, for as many who have accepted my invite to this dinner, please join me wherever you are as we eat together.

Lord Jesus, I believe you are the bread of life, the very one who came and died and reconciled us back to God, today, I accept your invite to this dinning table, I eat of you by faith, I drink of you by faith, I accept you as my Lord and saviour, enter into my life Jesus and begin a new walk with me, in Jesus mighty name.

If you said this prayer, congratulations! Thank you for accepting this invite, thank you for eating of Jesus! Please do reach out to the church so we can always pray with you and strengthen you.

If you made a decision you have made the best decision of your life, the greatest shift is the shift from darkness into everlasting life!

Congratulations!

Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.

The Shift Has Come
