2 Kings 1:10-13
- Elijah answered the captain, “If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.
- At this, the king sent to Elijah another captain with his fifty men. The captain said to him, “Man of God, this is what the king says, ‘Come down at once!’ ”
- “If I am a man of God,” Elijah replied, “may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then the fire of God fell from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.
- So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. This third captain went up and fell on his knees before Elijah. “Man of God,” he begged, “please have respect for my life and the lives of these fifty men, your servants!”
Fire doesn’t fall on empty altars. There has to be a sacrifice on the altar for the fire to fall. If you want the fire of God, you must become the fuel of God.
Child of God, until you carry the fire of God, until you can call down that fire—a lot of nonsense will be happening around your life and in your life.
By nature, nobody plays with fire, so spiritually, when you begin to carry the fire of God, no demon, situation, or personality tries you because they already know the result.
If you don’t have fire in your life, you will be taking a risk doing kingdom business, and as noble as your intentions are, your life would be frustrated, and you will become a ridicule of what you are supposed to rule over.
Until fire comes, sir, demons will not respond or respect you. Your situations are not moved by titles, attitudes, or efforts; they are moved by fire.
In Acts 19:15, the evil spirit said, “Jesus I know, Paul I know, but who are you?” Sir, until you carry the fire and the power of God, you don’t exist in this kingdom.
Without fire, we would do all we know and nothing would work; without fire, we would make a mockery of ourselves in a bid to advance the kingdom.
Fire has no regard for age, color, geography, or location. Once you carry the fire of God, you can take over a territory. You can set your family free from generational problems.
Note: A GENERATION CANNOT EMERGE, A GENERATION CANNOT BE SET FREE WITHOUT THE FIRE OF GOD.
Prayer: Father, I receive fire like the days of old and keep Your fire burning in me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
