Forgiveness: The Truth That Sets You Free.

“But you shall live by your sword, And you shall serve your brother; however, it shall come to pass, when you break loose [from your anger and hatred], that you will tear his yoke from your neck [and you will be free of him]. Genesis 27:40 (AMP)

Esau, lost twice to his brother, Jacob in destiny. First, he traded his birthright for a meal. Second, Jacob received the firstborn’s blessing from their father, Isaac, by disguising himself as Esau.

When Esau realized that there was nothing left for him from his father, he wept bitterly. But it could not be reversed. Esau hated his brother so much that he planned to kill him just like Cain did, intending to wait until their father had died.

Child of God, be mindful of what comes to your heart during your lowest moments in life. Had Esau not been walking in the flesh, he would have recognized that the plan to kill Jacob was evil, a sin already conceived in his heart. His jealousy turned to hatred, and that hatred turned into a desire for murder.

How many believers today have just enough of God to get by, but live with unresolved anger and unforgiveness like Esau? Anger and hatred will keep a person bound in eternal darkness.

Esau eventually had to let go of his hatred and forgive his brother. That’s why, when Jacob returned home, Esau was already doing well in life, he had enough riches for himself and eventually also became a nation of his own.

It was fear that made Jacob think his brother would kill him when they met again. But forgiveness sets you free and unlocks unlimited blessings upon you.

Had Esau not forgiven Jacob, he would have lived in his brother’s shadow all his life. Child of God, it’s time to set yourself free from the chains of unforgiveness.

Let it all go!

Let it all out!

Pray:

Father, have mercy on me for the unforgiveness I have harbored in my heart. Right now, I let go, and I forgive [mention the person], because You forgave me of my sins. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
