He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Just before we begin today, it is worthy of note that there is physical laziness and there Is mental laziness. As God gives us grace we would address both today.

We are days away from the new year, 2025. It is very important that we share on fundamentals that will make sure you have a prosperous year.

If hands are laid on you, God has spoken to you, men have anointed you and you are still physically and mentally lazy, you cannot prosper.

You cannot carryover laziness into 2025 and expect a different outcome other than poverty. Nothing prospers in the hands of a lazy man.

It is difficult for God to use a lazy man, it is difficult to use a lazy man. Everything that must command authority must come from the place of real work.

Scripture today tell us that a slack man is a man on a journey to poverty. Men are not just poor, they become poor. You can get so transformed as you get lazy that you eventually become poor.

Refuse to be slack, refuse to be idle. You must make up your mind to be physically and mentally active.

I know people in paid employment that will usually complain of 9 – 5, to most of them the way to get out of that hectic work schedule is to be a Chief Executive. You will become a CEO and realize that you will work even more. A mediocre member of staff can never become a successful Chief Executive.

There are favours you will never get within your organisation if you are physically lazy.

You may say, Somto, I am physically hardworking, I am struggling, why? Maybe your issue is mental laziness

Thinking is so important that thinkers earn the most in many organisations. Managers would always earn more than Labourers because it takes superior skill to think.

Some of us are too busy chatting, working, playing and we do not have time to think, day in, day out.

Some of you after reading this, go back and do personal evaluation. How successful was I in 2024? How can I improve in 2025? Ask this question sincerely. Do not be misled to the point where you deceive yourself.

Some of you, the problem is not that you are physically lazy, it could be that you are mentally lazy. Start putting your mind to use, start thinking and strategizing. There are many problems you can think yourself out of.

I always say it, thinking is not the same as worrying. When you worry, you magnify the problem, when you think, you plan how to overcome the problem.

Even God engages his mind in thinking. King David said the thoughts of God are deep and his works are great ( Psalms 92:5 )

As the year ends, do not give more time to partying and celebrating than you give to thinking.

Some of us are one degree away from breakthrough.

Some of us are one skill away from breakthrough.

Some of us are one qualification away from breakthrough.

Some of us are a change of job away from breakthrough.

Some of us are a contact away from breakthrough.

Give yourself to brainstorming.

Some of you need to resign from your jobs, you know within you, no matter how hard you work here, even the pay of your bosses cannot fund your life even if you eventually become a boss. Stop wasting valuable years and leave.

The General Superintendent, Rev Dr Olubusayo Folarin would say, You do not waste time, you waste your life in time. Make a decision, take a productive stand now that you are young.

Evaluate your life and progress this year and start taking decisions ahead of the new year!

Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.
