Psalm 85:8 KJV

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak: For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: But let them not turn again to folly.”

Most times, what we do in prayer is try to get God to speak. We are praying for His voice; we want His Word to come to us.

But the truth is, no matter how fluent a man is in speech, if your ears cannot hear, you will assume he is not speaking.

Sometimes, God is actually speaking; the problem is that we cannot hear. When there is a lack of communication between God and a believer, if that believer becomes sincere enough to inquire, he will discover that he has been deafened.

David, with all certainty, said, “I will hear what God will say.” Hearing the voice of God was not supernatural to David; he was very used to it. This is how it should be for the believer.

The Word of God has come; the problem is that ambition has made you deaf, lust has made you deaf, and greed has made you deaf. So, no matter what God is saying, you cannot hear because you have occupied your ears with other things.

Today, I want you to look intently at your relationship with God. Have my ears been blocked? Have I been rebelling against the voice of God? Can I submit myself to the counsel of God?

If you become sincere enough, you will close that gap and enjoy the best of God.
