[18] for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

When Jesus came to earth, the Jews felt he was a king. They saw in him a man that could save them. The Jews were under the colonisation of the Ronan government so they interpreted the ministry of Jesus as one that will bring political stability and give them independence as a people.

However, Jesus did not come to earth as a freedom fighter, he came with himself as a message and a solution to the problem of man.

This is why even when Jesus did not lead a protest, he said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. In other words, whatever freedom you want will be a product of your knowledge of him.

Jesus in his meeting with the woman at the well knew that she has had failed marriages. In fact the reason why he asked for her husband is to make her conscious of her marital situation.

She had a problem. She has had a relationship with 6 different men that did not work, interestingly, Jesus did not begin to do marriage counselling and relationship coaching. This is not because it is wrong to start a marriage counselling session, but, the unbeliever needs Jesus before counsel.

Secular organisations and even the government understands this. When they find a community that is ravaged with drug abuse, crime, terrorism and all manner of social vices, they spend money in formal and informal education in those people to indoctrinate them. After a while, their mind is exposed and crime drops.

When you see a family that is not as peace, before teaching about 5 things to do to make your husband happy and 100 things to do to make your wife love you, present Jesus to that family. Let Jesus be the very foundation of peace in that home.

When a child tells you he wants to be wayward, do anything and live his life, before you tell him about purpose and how to become responsible, please present Jesus. The word of God will illuminate his heart.

Your first approach and response to an abnormal and anti scriptural behaviour is not attacking the behaviour in itself, it is introducing the person of Jesus!

This is how to win men, conquer cities and transform nations!
