Jesus Is The Reason For The Season

“When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And after entering the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then, after opening their treasure chests, they presented to Him gifts [fit for a king, gifts] of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:10-11 AMP

I would like to begin today’s teaching with this reminder to us all: Christmas is a season that is all about Jesus and Jesus alone. When Jesus is substituted in anything we do on Christmas, it is no longer Christmas—it becomes something else.

Why do we celebrate Jesus?

1. Because Jesus came to give us life, light, and direction

I will tell you today, sir, that many believers’ lives only started to make sense and have meaning because they met Jesus. This tells me, sir, that you cannot have a genuine encounter with Jesus and have your life remain the same.

We can see today that many great men of God, including our General Superintendent (Rev. Dr. Olubusayo Folarin), are proof that you cannot follow Jesus sincerely and remain unchanged.

This is why I want to give us an assignment today: more than eating, drinking, and celebrating, ensure, sirs and ma’ams, that you do not lose sight of the reason for the season. Talk to someone about Jesus. Let us give meaning to more lives out there by telling them about Jesus—the reason for the season.

Validate celebrating Christmas today by bringing one or two people into the light of Jesus.

THIS YEAR, WE MUST CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN A QUALITY WAY FROM A KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE.

2. Because Jesus is the foundation of our love

Christmas is not a time to sit and hold grudges. The proof of Christmas is that it is a time to express Jesus’ love to others. Your expression of the love of Jesus to someone can save them from struggles they may not even be talking about.

Many of us today have decided to show love only to a few people we think deserve it. No, sir. This is a time to show love to everyone. Give that gift to that brother. Give a pleasant surprise to the family that least expects it. Today, show your Jesus in love and with love to someone.

This is also the time to forgive those who have offended you because you have the love of Jesus for all men.

How many people will join me to celebrate Christmas rightly today?

Put that call through. Forgive that individual. Send a gift to that family. Preach about Jesus to someone.

Once again, “THIS YEAR, WE MUST CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN A QUALITY WAY FROM A KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE.”

MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁
