“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10 NKJV
A sister once shared a testimony, she offered her friend a ride to an interview and also stayed behind to wait for her at the reception. While the interview was going on, one of the interviewer came outside and saw her alone, the interviewer told her to get ready for her interview, thinking she was also an applicant.
She told the man she was not an applicant but only brought her friend for the interview. The man said do you not have a job, that you are the one driving your friend? Truly she had no job and she answered yes, the man told her to get inside so they can interview her, she said she was not prepared for it at all, but the man insisted.
Fortunately, she got the job, unfortunately her friend that she brought did not get the job. How many of you will happily drive your friend for an interview while you are at home with no job? Let us even say you grumbled but eventually did, will you still wait for her to finish the interview and still take her back?
You might be thinking she snatched her friend’s job, but the truth is, the job was not actually meant for her friend it was meant for her, because eventually, she would be rejected and it will be a loss on both sides. But her act of kindness and pure mind got her a job she never in the world thought she could get.
Every day provides you an opportunity to show kindness, but it will be wrong of you to only show kindness so as to be rewarded, NO. Whether you would be recognised for your kindness or not, still show kindness.
Now, do not also think for every act of kindness you would get rewarded instantly, that would not even be kindness but a business transaction. Sometimes, it is not exactly where you sow the act of kindness you would reap it. But then, just do it.
As you go this week, at least show someone an act of kindness, invest good words in people, guide the children aright that are going wayward in your community, smile when giving alms to the poor and so many more. Remember again, everyday provides you with an opportunity to show kindness.
PRAYER
Say; Father, give me the heart of kindness, help me to do good always in Jesus name. Amen.
