“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” Matthew 6:33-34 TPT
It is not really a great thing that many of us focus on tomorrow—the future—while neglecting to live in the present, which is today.
We tend to put too much attention on what the outcome will be, rather than living, flowing, and enjoying the process. One day at a time!
I remember a few years back, early in my university days, I was someone who would start thinking deeply about how to survive in life. How would I get money to pay my rent because of the big, fancy apartment I had in my mind?
Where and how would I get money to feed myself? So many insignificant things that I just kept pondering about. It got so bad that first, anxiety came in, followed by fear, and before I knew it, I was literally having chest pain because of this.
I realized that I could not continue like that; it was too much for me to bear. Thank God for the timely words He sends through our pastors. My eyes were opened to a verse in the Bible, 1 Peter 5:7, which says, “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.”
With this understanding, I started trusting God for everything, big or small. Whatever was making my heart ache, I surrendered to His care. It’s been an amazing journey since then. Even till now, I’m still trusting God and surrendering all of my cares and worries to Him because He loves me.
Today, I also want you to start trusting God with every issue of concern in your life. Let Him in; pour out your heart to Him. He is your Father, and He always listens when you call on Him.
The Devil would want you to keep it all to yourself and get yourself hurt, but do not keep quiet. Start with the big things, then the little things. Talk to ABBA about them and ask Him to carry your burden as you carry His kingdom’s business.
Pray: Father, unto You, I cast all my cares, worries, and anxieties because I know You love me. Help me to keep trusting in Your abundant love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
