“He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.”
I Samuel 2:8 NKJV
For some believers, it is not as if they do not know God, but they just have not found the way to getting the attention of God. One of the ways to get God’s attention is through Prayer and Fasting.
Nehemiah was a cupbearer to King Artaxerxes, king of Persia. He was taken as a slave to Susa where he served in the king’s palace. Later on, he was informed that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and the gates burned.
He prayed and fasted to God for days, for favour in the sight of the king to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the wall and also fix the gates, and because he had fasted and prayed before going to the king, the king granted all his requests and even gave him more than he asked.
Men are not willing to help you until they are compelled by prayer. For you to get uplifted this year, do not think that just because the servant of God has prophesied and proclaimed it over you, it will easily manifest.
You have to pray and fast and not stop until you get uplifted and you are satisfied. If you wish to command great results like Nehemiah did, you have to be a man or woman of prayer.
Do not ever think that praying and fasting is a waste of time, beyond you getting exactly what you are praying for, it helps build your capacity in strength and your faith, it connects you on a deeper level to God and also prepares your mind to hear from God.
Praying and fasting with the word of God is not an option for every child of God. You might think everything is working for you anyways so, why fast and pray?, but eventually, you will get to a bridge where what will carry you through will be the strength and capacity you have been able to build in the place of prayer.
Do not wait until you get there, because then, it might be a burden, so start now, pray now, fast now and discipline yourself to be consistent because praying is not a gift, it is a discipline.
PRAYER
Say; Father, I ask and receive strength in the place of prayer. Help me Holy Spirit to fast and pray and not faint in Jesus name.
