Luke 14:23-24 MSG
“The master said, ‘Then go to the country roads. Whoever you find, drag them in. I want my house full! Let me tell you, not one of those originally invited is going to get so much as a bite at my dinner party.’”
This is one of the most powerful parts of the scripture that speaks to the gift of salvation and our response to the invitation to receive it.
Everyday people send out invitations, invitations to book launches, invitations to weddings, invitations to house warnings, invitations to year end get togethers. If you look at most invite letters carefully, just at the end of the page, you will see R. S. V. P and a contact number.
R. S. V. P is actually there so you can respond to the invitation, either confirming your availability or otherwise. It helps event organisers plan and prepare to host you.
This is the story, a master organized a banquet for his friends, the nobles, the kings, the captain’s of industries, he invited all of them. Interestingly, because they were big men and apparently very busy, they sent a response to the invitation that they would not be available, every man gave a reason.
Just because meals prepared should not be wasted, the master called his servants to look for just anybody to invite to eat at his banquet.
This goes beyond food, tho speaks to salvation.
Ideally, just like how you will expect that men of influence will grace the banquet of their friend, this was also how it was expected that the teachers of religious law, men who have understood by study the Torah and the prophecies of the prophets would be the ones to receive salvation, this actually was not the case
When Jesus came, it was not the sanhendrins and the Sadducees that heard of it first, it was shepherds, the most lowly in society, very ordinary men.
Luke 2:8-12 MSG
[8-12] There were shepherds camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”
God did it like that because those that were knowledgeable enough to foretell his redemptive plan in Jesus by the knowing of prophecy could no longer see.
Matthew 11:25-26 MSG
[25-26] Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer: “Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You’ve concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that’s the way you like to work.”
Nobody enters into Jesus by knowledge and information, we enter into knowledge by sending a response to the invitation of Jesus to salvation.
The table is set, the meal is salvation, you declare your faith in Jesus, this is how to consume that meal !
There is an invitation before you. An invitation to glory. An invitation to dominion
Send in your response to that invitation! It is never too late. This is how men conquer life and make It to heaven in glory
Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.
The Shift Has Come
