Recovery is a Part of Redemption.

“What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.” Joel 1:4 NKJV

Before we can fully grasp the concept of recovery, it is essential to understand the nature of locusts.

Locusts are destructive and voracious creatures that devour everything in their path. They move in vast swarms, and spiritually, they symbolize satanic forces.

A prime example of someone afflicted by locusts is the billionaire Job. Job was not just attacked by locusts; he was ravaged by swarming locusts that consumed everything he had, leaving him with nothing but himself and his wife.

Wherever locusts go, they leave behind a trail of scarcity, famine, and emptiness. Job’s situation was so dire that his wife lost hope and even urged him to curse God, the very God to whom he had devoted his life, and die.

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25 NKJV

But what she did not realize is that recovery is an integral part of redemption. She had forgotten that our God is a restorer of times and seasons, unbound by the limitations of time that constrain us. He is the Almighty God.

Whatever you may have lost in the past—whether it is years in your career, academic achievements, or the glory days consumed by satanic forces—restoration and recovery are central to God’s redemptive plan. Do not let the Devil deceive you into believing that you cannot regain what was lost.

God is speaking to you today, saying, “I am restoring all the years you have labored in tears, and now you shall live in abundance and be satisfied.”

Prayer:

Every power that has placed its hand on my life and family, stealing good things from us, dry up by fire now in Jesus’ name. Amen.
