“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16 (NLT)
I’ll start today’s teaching with this piece of advice: Stop pretending to love Jesus. If you don’t love Him, then you don’t love Him. There’s no two ways about it — pretending won’t make you love Him someday. Are you with me?
Every time love is spoken about, there must be proof — and take note of the word “must.”
You cannot claim to love Jesus when you truly don’t. Our walk with Jesus and our love for Him is not a drama or a playlet where you have to step into character and perform a role that isn’t yours. Are you still with me this morning?
Journey with me carefully now. Let’s look at today’s Bible reading again:
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son.”
This means, sir/ma, that love without proof is not love at all. Even God, when He loved us, gave us His one and only Son. He gave up something for you.
Child of God, how can you claim to love the Lord and yet refuse to let go of sin?
How can you say you love God but still shuffle between God and the devil?
There are no two ways about love — especially the love of God.
If you love God, you do.
If you don’t love God, you don’t.
Because the rate at which my generation is filled with excuses and justifications for behaviors that do not reflect love for God — and yet still claim to love Him — is alarming.
Wake up, child of God!
We cannot deceive God.
Good morning.
