22. “And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; And Canaan shall be his servant.
27. God shall enlarge Japheth, And he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; And Canaan shall be his servant.”
Genesis 9:22–27 (KJV)
I will round off on God’s economy (Fathers) today, as we will further look at other important structures in the economy of God’s kingdom in the coming weeks.
Let me start today’s teaching with this word of knowledge:
“If you will not receive the blessing of fathers, please do everything in your power not to be cursed by fathers.”
I have said it over and over again—some of you understand the structures of fathers, yet you are too careless and not ready to be disciplined as far as fathers are concerned. But let me leave you with a word of advice once again:
If you will not be blessed by fathers, do not get cursed, because except by God, you will never come out of it.
This is the story of many of us today. Just like Ham, the father of Canaan, many of us have been unwise in our dealings with fathers, and nothing on this earth vindicates what we have done. I am learning, and I know you are learning too. Let me bring out a few things:
1. It is not in your place to talk about fathers. It is not in your hands that fathers should be disgraced or laughed at. If you are doing any of these things, please stop. Do not be like Ham.
Yes, I know you have noticed many things. Yes, I know you think many things are wrong with the fathers. But please, if you cannot pray for them, don’t do what Ham did.
2. Many of you were called into the scene like Shem and Japheth, but instead of doing what is needed, you have joined whoever called you against fathers to do what God frowns at. There is a curse, oh—there is a curse! If you do not want the blessings of the fathers, do not get cursed.
3. You can be a Shem and a Japheth. You can be true sons and daughters of the fathers. You can do what is right and required.
I am sure God is speaking to many people this morning, because this is exactly where you are.
A derelict generation has risen—they believe that the structures put in place by God mean nothing. You must not be a part of this generation.
This derelict generation was talked about in Proverbs 30:11:
“There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.”
Let me show you a part of what happens to this generation in verse 17:
“The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.”
As long as you ignore and disrespect the structures that God Himself put in place and has from time immemorial honored, you walk outside His divine order.
Good morning, God’s own people.
