John 10:17 KJV
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
Last week we began a teaching series on the gifts of God.
God gave gifts to men to equip and empower them to do the works of the ministry. It means, the only reason why God will give you a gift is because it is required to assist you in fulfilling his purposes.
It is very clear, right from the scripture, the reason we were given the gift of life was for God’s pleasure (Revelation 4;11)
One of the gifts that God gave us was the sacrifice on the cross. Understand that Jesus had the power to decide how he wanted to die.
Jesus could have decided to die from his sleep, he could have decided to die on his way to the temple. He could have decided to die after eating a very decent meal.
He had all these options available to him yet he decided that he will die the very painful death on the cross.
The reason why Jesus had to die the way he did was because he was more interested in fulfilling prophecy than his own comfort (Hebrews 10:7)
Because Jesus died on the cross, we were saved and delivered from the power of sin. Jesus hanged on the cross and he was carrying our sin on him, this is why the father could not look at him (Habakkuk 1:13, Matthew 27;46)
When Jesus was hanging on the cross, he was reconciling us back to the family of God. When Adam fell, he departed the presence of God. Jesus on the cross was reconciling us back to the house of God (John 14:1-3) On that cross, God made room for us!
The cross of Jesus gave us salvation (Romans 5:8-10)
By the cross we got salvation, we got redemption, we got reconciliation, we got freedom!
This is the highest demonstration of the love of God (John 15:13)
Jesus did not need to come. He did not need to die. He was not dying for himself. He chose to die for you!
I want you to engage and enjoy this precious gift of God!
The only way you can enjoy and make use of this gift is to receive Jesus and accept his perfect sacrifice!
If you have decided for Jesus this morning, I want you to pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord today, please bring me into the family of God, write my name in the book of life, let me have the joy of salvation!
If you have prayed this prayer, I congratulate you! Welcome to the family of God!
Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.
The Shift Has Come
