THE PROCESS
PSALM 105:19 (KJV)
“Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.”
There is something we must understand about the lifting of God: before there is often a lifting, there is a process.
Many people desire the lifting, but they do not understand the process that produces the lifting.
We want the throne, but we do not always want the training. We want the testimony, but we do not always want the test. We want the promotion, but we do not always want the preparation.
But God is not only interested in where He is taking you; He is also interested in who you become before you get there.
JOSEPH: A MAN WHO WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS
Joseph is one of the clearest examples of this.
Child of God, God showed Joseph his future through a dream. He saw himself in a position of greatness and authority.
Genesis 37:5 (KJV)
“And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.”
But immediately after the dream came a process. Joseph went from the pit, to Potiphar’s house, from Potiphar’s house to prison, and from prison to the palace and you must understand that none of those difficult places looked like the fulfillment of his dream.
When Joseph was in the pit, it probably did not look like God was lifting him.
When he became a slave, it did not look like God was lifting him.
When he was falsely accused and imprisoned, it certainly did not look like God was lifting him.
Yet every stage was moving him toward God’s appointed destination.
The process was not a detour from God’s plan; it was part of God’s plan. Are you getting it now?
I will show you four things THE PROCESS does to the believer
1) THE PROCESS TESTS YOU
Our Bible text for today says:
“The word of the LORD tried him.”
The process tests what is inside a man.
It tests your patience.
It tests your faith.
It tests your character.
It tests your obedience.
It tests whether you can remain faithful when nobody is watching.
Joseph had the opportunity to compromise when Potiphar’s wife tempted him, but Joseph chose to honour God.
Genesis 39:9 (KJV)
“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
Joseph was not yet in the palace, but he was already developing the character he would need in the palace.
God was preparing the man before He prepared the position.
And sometimes, what God is doing in your life right now is not primarily about changing your circumstances. He may be changing you.
2). THE PROCESS TEACHES YOU HOW TO HANDLE THE LIFTING
There are some blessings that require preparation.
If God gives a man a position before he has developed the character to handle it, the position can become a burden rather than a blessing.
David was anointed king, but he still had to spend time in the wilderness.
Joseph had the dream, but he still had to learn responsibility, wisdom, administration, patience, and integrity.
By the time Joseph stood before Pharaoh, he was not the same young man who had received the dream.
Genesis 41:41 (KJV)
“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”
The boy who had once been thrown into a pit was now managing a nation.
The process had prepared him for the platform.
Child of God, I know you have the knowledge that God lifts men but you must also understand that our God is not a MAGICIAN. He makes men, he lifts men and when he does that, he does it through a process
Are you truly prepared to be lifted by God? If yes
Are you prepared to go through the process of lifting
Good morning once again THE BELIEVER.
I will share with you the remaining two on Friday. God bless you
