Genesis 32:11 NLT
O Lord, please rescue me from the hand of my brother, Esau. I am afraid that he is coming to attack me, along with my wives and children.

Understand that Jacob knew that Esau will be visibly angry at him. Jacob was the one that took the birth right from Esau, he was the one that took the very blessing of Isaac.

Jacob hears that his brother is approaching with 400 men, this is a brother that had no record of encountering God. This is a brother that angels never told to forgive Jacob. This is a brother who had no visible experience with God that would have made his heart soften.

Jacob knew this and he knew that his only way of escape beyond all he knows how to do is to pray.

Jacob had to pray to the very God of his family to rescue him because only God could really rescue him.

Understand that when you get threats in life, your first approach should not be a defence meeting, it should not be a strategy meeting, your first approach should be prayer.

Just before you start looking for the wisdom of men, make sure you pray. Wisdom is a disadvantage when God is fighting you, you can ask Ahithophel.

Every battle of life is won on your knees, this is why you must be a person of prayer.

Men do not just get victory, they get it in the place of prayer.

If you see Esau without prayer, you will end as Abel.

The charge for us is to be consecrated to prayer. This is a sure victory guarantee!
