Matthew 6:5 NKJV
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
Some people think that their prayer is an opportunity for them to impress people, they use it to pretend to be spiritual and on fire.
God is not moved by pretence, God is moved when he sees genuine intentions.
Be more interested in building that genuine relationship with God than trying to put efforts to pretend along that direction.
The energy we use in making a fake relationship with God look real can be used in getting a real relationship with him.
You see people passing and you are praying with extravagant English, praying with interesting postures, the life that you are not used to in secret, it is time to have a rethink.
There is no profit in pretending to be a man of prayer in secret, the people will not answer your prayer, it is God that will. Please sir, get it real with him.
God is calling us (his children) into a deep place of fellowship, a place more beautiful than the place of pretence. As fanciful as making a public show in prayer is, a genuine secret place is more beautiful!
God is calling us into the place of prayer as individuals.
The word of God is clear, even before you pray, God has heard (Isaiah 65:24) it is not your understanding of English and the rules that aids us to communicate with it that makes your prayer answered, your prayers are answered because God hears, even before you pray.
God will most times answer casual prayers just so that you understand that nothing comes to you by effort, so that you do not glory in it. Even salvation did not come to you by your strength.
Even if all you know is to pray in your local dialect, before you begin to pray God has heard you. God listens to the heart.
When you have no words and you are just consumed by emotions, without your words, God has heard you.
There is no need to pretend when you want to pray, you do not need to impress people, you absolutely do not need to impress God!
God is not looking for perfect prayers, he is looking out for a sincere heart!
The Purpose of prayer is not to make a show, it is to speak to God!
Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.
The Shift Has Come
