“Money does not help a foolish person, because he does not want to become wise.” Proverbs 17:16 (EASY)
We live in a world that often measures success by wealth, status, and material possessions. Yet, Proverbs 17:16 reminds us that money in the hands of a fool is of little value. Why? Because true transformation and success do not come from external riches but from internal wisdom.
Without the desire to grow in wisdom and godly understanding, even the greatest wealth becomes meaningless.
This verse calls us to evaluate our priorities. Are we chasing temporary treasures, or are we seeking the eternal wisdom that comes from God? Wisdom shapes how we use the resources we’ve been given. It teaches us to make choices that honor God and bless others, transforming wealth into a tool for good rather than a snare for foolishness.
I will hint you on a secret today. I know you pray to God for financial blessing. But when you eventually get this blessing, how many of you go back to God to help you spend wisely? This is what has helped me in handling most of my resources, asking God for guidance in how to use the resources.
As we go into a new year, I want you to reflect on what drives you—are you pursuing wealth for its own sake, or are you asking God how to use what you have for His glory?
A foolish person, as the verse highlights, lacks the desire to become wise. They may have access to resources but squander them because they fail to see the bigger picture. Wisdom, on the other hand, teaches us to steward what we have—whether much or little—with faithfulness and purpose.
Today, consider one area where you can apply godly wisdom to how you handle your resources—be it your time, finances, or talents.
Ask God to direct your steps and show you how to steward what He has given you. And if truly indeed DCA Global has been a blessing to you why not make a wise decision like I did years ago and partner with the vision of the church, join Divine Kingdom Partners (DKP) today. Remember that wisdom leads to decisions that bring life, joy, and eternal reward, while wealth alone cannot provide lasting satisfaction.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to seek wisdom above all else. Teach me to value Your guidance and truth over material wealth. Give me a heart that longs to grow in understanding and a spirit that uses what I have to honor You. May I never place riches above Your wisdom, but always seek to walk in Your ways in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
