The Wisdom of God (Forgiving)

“Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults. But instead, be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.”Ephesians 4:31-32 TPT

Today, we continue the series on the wisdom of God as we look at forgiving one another.

I will start today’s teaching with this piece of advice: “Maintain a posture where you are not surprised by the behavior of people.” This is the wisdom of God.

The best of every man is still a man, and offenses will come—whether small or life-damaging. Forgiveness is an act of God, but it is a difficult thing to do. It takes the wisdom and help of God to forgive.

The wisest, happiest, and most peaceful individuals on earth are those who understand that ALL MEN ARE MEN and have the wisdom of God to forgive.

Many people today are still tied down by heaviness and the burden of pain because of unforgiveness. God is asking me to tell you this morning that, irrespective of what has been done to you or what has hurt you: Forgive, sirs and ma’ams. Set them free from the bondage of your heart. It is the wisdom of God to forgive.

The destiny God has placed in the hands of some of us cannot be birthed in unforgiveness. Yes, I know it hurts, but let it go.

One common act among believers is unforgiveness. You see workers in God’s vineyard refusing to forgive their fellow workers. Let me leave you with this thought: “In this kingdom, there is no such thing as excuses, sir.” You hear people say, “God understands what he or she did to me—it hurt me.” Yes, God is aware that you are hurt, but God does not condone the act of unforgiveness. This morning, He is asking you to apply His wisdom and forgive. It doesn’t need to make sense—it is simply the right thing to do.

So, this morning, forgive that brother or sister. Make that call, pray for that person, and be free.

Do not allow someone’s offense to put you in the bondage of pain. Do not go into 2025 with unforgiveness.

The same way God has always forgiven us, He is speaking to someone this morning.
