“If you keep talking, it won’t be long before you’re saying something really wrong. Prove you’re wise from the very start—just bite your tongue and be strong!” Proverbs 10:19 TPT
Today, we continue the series on the wisdom of God as we further explore SPEAKING LESS.
One of my brothers once said, “NOBODY CONFIDES IN A TALKATIVE.” Child of God, it is very dangerous to lack the wisdom of God to speak rightly and speak less.
Once a word is spoken, it is very difficult to forget, and that is why many of the futures that have been shaped—whether good or bad—are a result of the words spoken.
Many of you will agree with me that the reason you are still where you are today is because of things you have said. Trust me, if moving forward you don’t ask God for the wisdom to speak wisely, situations will only get worse for you.
Sir, I tell you, the fact that you know something does not mean it is a requisite for you to speak it. Without the wisdom of God to guide your speech, you might think every statement is worth saying.
Many people have lost helpers because of sincere but unnecessary statements. Sir, if you lack the wisdom of God to speak, you will say things that are true, yet you will suffer the consequences for the rest of your life.
Let us wake up, believers. As I mentioned in the first part of this teaching, before you speak, let your words pass through these three gates:
1. Is it true?
2. Is it necessary?
3. Is it kind?
I am very sure God is speaking to someone this morning. The connections, covenant friendships, prayer partners, and divine structures that God has prepared for you may still be far from you because you do not yet possess the wisdom of God to speak wisely. Ask God for His wisdom.
I will round off on this note: “THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS YOU WILL MOST DEFINITELY LOSE AND MIGHT NEVER RECOVER IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE WISDOM OF GOD TO SPEAK AND SPEAK LESS.”
Good morning.
Prayer:
Lord, I receive Your wisdom to speak and to speak rightly. Help me, O Lord, to know when to speak and when to stop speaking, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, whatever I have spoken outside of Your wisdom that is still flying around, by Your mercy, please bring it down, in Jesus’ name.
