THE WOMAN AT THE WELL

John 4:10 KJV
[10] Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

In the days of Jesus, it was very unusual to see a Jew associating with a Samaritan. More unusual was the fact that this association was not done in secret at the dead of the night or before the day opens it’s eyes. This association was in the open, in the public with the possibility of people walking in.

The Jews have had a running battle with the Samaritans. The Jews considered the Samaritans as people who have polluted the faith and religious beliefs. They saw them as people who are given to idolatry practices.

The battle and cold hatred was so deep that a Jew would not pass by Samaria when he is on transit. They absolutely wanted nothing to do with them.

The scripture however tells us that Jesus, did not only meet a Samaritan, he also met a woman. Even the disciples were surprised but out of honour they could not question him or inquire on what the conversation was.

Jesus was asking for a drink but he wanted to give her living water.

This is how salvation is. You must deliberately give to be able to receive.

Jesus wanted water so that he could give her living water.

Jesus has still not changed today. Jesus can come to you, he has no regard for gender.

Jesus can come to you, he has no regard for race.

Jesus can come to you, he has no regard for stereotypes.

Jesus can come to you, he has no regard for nationality, ethnicity and tribe.

Jesus however wants water so he can give you living water.

Jesus wants your life so that he can give you his life.

Jesus wants you to surrender to him so that he can give you eternal life.

Eternal life is a gift that will cost you. It will cost you your desires, the adventure of the flesh, worldly pleasures and your life.

When you go to pick living water you must drop water. When you are to pick eternal life you must drop your physical and material life.

You may have water but as sufficient as your water may appear with the possibilities of keeping you hydrated, that water can finish and you will thirst again.

You may have bread and boast in the quality and durability of that bread, when it finishes, you will be hungry again.

You may have life, have the riches of the world and brag in comfort but guess what, there is an end to life.

Our father’s ate manna and died this is why Jesus is bringing the living bread and living water.

Come to a water unending

Receive a life unending in glory.

This is the life we have been called to. Until we respond to this call, nothing else truly matters.

Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.

The Shift Has Come
