“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, ‘Abraham!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ Then He said, ‘Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.’ Genesis 22:1–2 NKJV

Blessed day, child of God.

Every believer always aims for their next level in life and destiny. Nobody really wants to be stuck in a particular position for long. After a period of time, we want to advance higher.

“Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’”
Genesis 12:1–3 NKJV

Abraham was called out by God and separated from his family for a lifetime journey of faith in God. God blessed him and was with him.

First Test

However, Sarah, his wife, was barren, and both of them were advanced in years, getting old already. God promised to make him a nation. He trusted and hoped in God’s word. He waited and waited, year after year. Twenty-five solid years later, this promise was fulfilled in the birth of Isaac.

Second Test

After a few years, God spoke again, instructing Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, to Him.

This was the height of it. First, it was waiting for more than 25 years. We only know when God called Abraham, but he had been married before he was called out.

Eventually, he received the promise, and now he was being asked to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering to God?

The GS taught us that once he had sacrificed Isaac, Abraham better not go back home to Sarah, because with which mouth would he tell his wife that he had killed their only son for the God he had been following for years?

But Abraham obeyed the voice of God.

“And said: ‘By Myself I have sworn,’ says the Lord, ‘because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.’”
Genesis 22:16–18 NKJV

Every man must pass his own test to proceed to greater heights. Our tests will be different.

It might be letting go of your five loaves and two fish. It might be letting go of your finances for the Kingdom of God. It might be letting go of your master’s or doctorate degree certificate for God’s Kingdom.

Your test might be moving into a strange land by God’s instruction. It might be choosing between the job you worked so hard to get and God. Your test might be letting go of that which you love dearly.

Build capacity now that you do not fail when your test comes.

Your test will come. You must pass it to move to the next class in destiny.
