Child of God, I welcome you to a new week of Supernatural Help in Jesus’ name.

As believers, we need to arm ourselves with different kinds of ammunition. Even though we know that in the fight we fight, God has given us victory, we still have our parts to play individually.

One of the weapons we need to master and use is so subtle yet powerful. It is called management.

You’d be shocked that the same Apostle Paul who said, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19), also said in the preceding verses of the same chapter that he had learned to manage seasons of surplus and scarcity.

Some believers have been brainwashed into thinking that because they have accepted Christ, they will lack nothing and whatever they desire will be granted. Yes, this is written in the Scriptures, but again, you need to understand the seasons of life.

God does not endorse resource waste. He does not give more to the one who lavishes and mismanages his or her resources.

The GS taught us a few years ago that the rain of money does not fall forever. But what you have done while the money is raining will determine if you will survive when it stops.

One of our pastors once told me that while he was just starting his career, he worked in a company where money was coming in steadily. Bonuses were substantial, aside from his salary. I mean, it was serious money.

While this was happening, his colleagues would go to restaurants after work, eat, drink, and spend. They would lodge in hotels and spend their weekends there. Some even travelled abroad during their leave. You can imagine that this was enough money to afford all of this.

Suddenly, the money stopped coming in. Many were laid off, bonuses were drastically reduced, and lifestyles had to change. But this pastor told me that while all his colleagues were flexing, he had bought land, started building, and finished the house. Coincidentally, it was around that time that his landlord decided to increase the rent by 200%. He simply said, “Okay,” and moved into his own house.

This is the practical experience behind the saying, “The rain of money does not fall forever.”

Child of God, be wise. Don’t mismanage funds. When your rain of money starts falling, consult godly financial experts, invest, and save, so that when the season changes, you won’t be relegated to the back of life.

Just like Joseph, you must learn to take advantage of seasons, both surplus and scarcity. Remember that Joseph generated more than Egypt had ever made for Pharaoh during the famine (Genesis 47:20), because he understood seasons and managed them effectively.

Ask God for the grace to understand seasons and to manage them effectively, in Jesus’ name.
