“Jesus supernaturally perceived their thoughts and motives, so he told them this parable: ‘Any kingdom that fights against itself is reduced to ruins. And any family or community splintered by strife will fall apart.’”

Matthew 12:25 TPT

Jesus always knew what was going on beneath the surface. In Matthew 12, the Pharisees accused Him of casting out demons by the power of Satan. But Jesus, knowing their hearts, gave them a powerful truth: Division is destructive. Whether it’s a kingdom, a home, a church, or a community—if there’s internal conflict, the foundation begins to crumble.

This is not just a lesson about nations or ancient religious disputes—it’s for us, today. The enemy doesn’t always attack from the outside; sometimes his greatest strategy is to divide us from within.

Disunity, gossip, unresolved offense, pride—these things slowly fracture relationships and communities that were meant to reflect the love and unity of God.

Jesus was calling out a spiritual principle: Unity is strength, but division is ruin. In your family, are there tensions left unresolved? In your church or friendships, are you harboring unforgiveness?

Even in your own heart, are you torn between faith and fear, trust and doubt? The invitation from Jesus is to realign, to seek healing and unity—because when we stand together in love, truth, and grace, we reflect the kingdom of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any area of division in your life—whether it’s a broken relationship, a grudge, or a lack of peace within yourself. Take one step today toward unity: a conversation, a prayer, an act of forgiveness. Unity is not just a goal; it’s a weapon against the enemy.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for revealing what truly matters. Help me to be a peacemaker and a vessel of unity in every area of my life. Expose any hidden strife in my heart and lead me to reconcile where there has been division. Unite my family, my church, and my community through Your Spirit. Let us be a reflection of Your oneness, and protect us from the schemes of the enemy. In Your name, Amen.
