WHEN GOD OVERLOOKS YOUR FAITH

[12] Therefore Sarah laughed to herself, saying, After I have become aged shall I have pleasure and delight, my lord (husband), being old also? [I Pet. 3:6.]

[13] And the Lord asked Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I really bear a child when I am so old?

[14] Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes around, I will return to you and Sarah shall have borne a son. [Matt. 19:26.]

It is true that God requires us to have faith, strengthen our faith and grow in faith.

It is also true that there are many kingdom possibilities that you cannot come into if you do not have faith.

I present to you another truth, God can sometimes overlook your faith. The agenda of God can be so powerful and weighty that he does what he wants to do whether your faith can carry it or not.

You will hear of believers holding crusades and sinners lost to alcohol addiction, people that are fully drunk receiving their healing. That healing was not just for their body, it was a reminder from God that he is still with them. God heals such people to remind them of his covenant with their parents.

There are many people who were so physically disabled that they could not really express faith, yet the sovereignty of God comes in, overlooks their faith and restores their health.

The reason why Isaac came late was because he was a child of promise. God needed to use Isaac to reveal his salvation plan to Abraham. When Isaac was to come, Sarah laughed wondering how she will take in with her age. When Jesus was to come, Mary was wondering how she would take in without a man.

Jesus eventually came to replace Isaac at the sacrifice table. The ministry of Isaac among many others was to show Abraham the redemptive plan of God!

God could not do major things without letting his friend Abraham know ( Genesis 18:17 )

This was why even when Sarah laughed, God would bring Isaac because he will not hide his plan for redemption from Abraham.

Ishmael was not to be sacrificed, it had to be Isaac. The difference is, Isaac, a child of promise, the son of Abraham would not eventually die. On the other hand, the beloved son of God would eventually die. Ishmael could not be used for that demonstration because he was not a child of promise. God needed a child of promise to come before Jesus so that Abraham understands salvation. Abraham eventually saw the day of Jesus and that was all God intended to do!

If you are in the covenant, God can overlook doubts and bring his counsel. He has covenants that at all cost he must protect!

You may laugh but Isaac is coming

I am writing this to tell you that as you express doubt, still make room for Isaac.

Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.

The Shift Has Come
