HE CHANGES YOUR CIRCLE AND YOUR INFLUENCE

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Proverbs 13:20 KJV

Good morning, God’s people.

Earlier, we established that when the Holy Spirit comes, He changes the man—his character, spiritual capacity, understanding and even his ability to create value.

But the work of the Holy Spirit does not stop with the individual.

He can change your relationships, your influence and even what your life represents to the next generation.

1. RELATIONAL ELEVATION

When the Holy Spirit is at work in you, your relationships must also become healthier and more purposeful.

You begin to understand that not everyone should have access to your life. The Bible says:

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV

Child of God, choose friends who fear God.

Choose people who can correct you, pray with you, encourage you, challenge you to grow and help you remain committed to God’s purpose.

Your association can either strengthen your destiny or weaken it.

As the Holy Spirit changes you, He may also cause some relationships to change. Don’t be afraid when God begins to remove certain people from your circle.

Sometimes relational elevation requires relational separation.

2. INFLUENTIAL ELEVATION

God does not give influence merely for recognition. He gives influence for impact. Joseph’s relationship with God eventually positioned him to influence an entire nation.

Daniel also found himself in a position where his wisdom and integrity affected the affairs of a kingdom.

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him.”

Daniel 6:3 KJV

Notice that Daniel’s influence was connected to an excellent spirit.

Child of God, when the Holy Spirit works in you, He can increase your capacity to influence people, institutions, businesses, communities and even nations.

But remember:

Influence without character is dangerous.

That is why God works on your character before increasing your influence.

3. GENERATIONAL ELEVATION

One of the greatest things the Holy Spirit can do through a man is to make his life a blessing to generations after him.

Abraham was not blessed for Abraham alone. God said:

“And in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Genesis 12:3 KJV

Your elevation should not end with you.

The wisdom you acquire should help someone else.

The wealth God gives you should create opportunities for others.

The spiritual understanding you receive should be transferred.

The godly character you develop should become an inheritance for your children.

You should become a bridge between where your generation is and where the next generation ought to be.

Child of God, don’t only pray, “Lord, elevate me.”

Pray:

“Lord, make my elevation useful to Your Kingdom and beneficial to generations after me.”

THE REALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When the Holy Spirit truly comes into a man’s life:

His character changes.

His gifts are activated.

His capacity increases.

His understanding expands.

His financial capacity can increase.

His relationships become more purposeful.

His influence increases.

His life begins to speak to generations.

The evidence of the Holy Spirit is not merely what happens in a church service.

The evidence is also what happens in your character, your decisions, your relationships, your work, your influence and your impact.

When the Holy Spirit comes, IT CHANGES.

PRAYER

Father, let Your Holy Spirit have complete expression in my life. Give me the wisdom to choose the right relationships, increase my influence for Your Kingdom, and make my life a blessing to generations after me. May my elevation bring glory to Your name and make a difference in the lives of others, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Remember: God does not elevate a man merely to make him bigger; He elevates him so that he can become a greater blessing.
