“For You, O Lord, bless the righteous man [the one who is in right standing with You]; You surround him with favour as with a shield.”
Psalms 5:12 AMP

It’s still early in this month to start working rightly with God. It is the people who are in right standing with God that get to be wrapped with favour as with a shield.

A man who perpetually lives in sin has very little chance of attracting the favour of God. For a man to get on a good side of a king, you must have been doing what pleases him at all times. A man who disobeys the king at every chance he gets can never be favoured of that king, so it is with our heavenly Father, if we want to move Him in favour towards us, we have to do His bidding continually.

“But Noah was different. God liked what he saw in Noah. This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.”

We are quite familiar with this text, of how Noah found favour in the eyes of God. But if you read the preceding text, you would see how the wickedness of men grew and they were just doing as it pleases their soul and flesh, but right in the kind of ecosystem, Noah was totally different and did not partake in evil other men were engaging in, he chose to walk with God and live a consecrated life. This was what attracted God’s favour upon his life and family.

God blesses the man in right standing with Him and surrounds him with favour as with a shield.

Say; Father, have mercy upon me and help me to walk rightly with you in all my ways. Bless me and favour me in Jesus’ matchless name. Amen
