Genesis 22:5 NKJV
And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”

Abraham gave us an early definition of what worship actually is. Many believe that worship is just music, many will tell you that worship is not just music but slow music. Worship is not just music, in fact, music helps us align our heart and life to worship.

Worship is actually Shachah and among many things, Shachah means to surrender.

When Abraham was going to the place of sacrifice, he called the totality of that activity worship. It was worship because at that place, he surrendered his will to the authority and the supremacy of the will of God.

Jesus was to go to the cross and once again the man side of him was shown to us when he prayed

Luke 22:42 NKJV
[42] saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

This actually is worship, worship is obedience, it is surrender. As our General Superintendent will say, obedience is doing things that are typically not your will.

Most times even in prayer, we do not force God to change his mind, we stay there till our heart is strengthened enough to align with his commands.

God is not so obsessed with worship that he ignores the person bringing it. The Bible says that God Is looking for true worshippers (John 4:23)

Your worship must be correct but much more, you, the worshipper must also be correct. A wrong man will be rejected even if he brings what he thinks is the right worship

Obedience is good, the heart of the one obeying is as important. Most times, the heart of the one worshipping can compromise the worship, this was the error of Cain. The difference between Cain and Abel was worship (sacrifice).

I want you to be intentional as you worship and serve God, it is not a media race, it is not a tiktok race, it is not a Snapchat streak, it is an intimate relationship with God behind closed doors.

Do not bring worship to the open to a God that does not know you in the secret.

People advance in life because the man in the room and the man on the stage is one man!

Worship is obedience, sacrifice, and subordination of will. If you do not see it in this life you have not entered worship.

Till we arrive at the point of the full manifestation of what God has said concerning us, we will continue to share some of these things as we journey.
