12. “And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13. And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14. And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”
— Joshua 6:12–15, 20 (KJV)
I’ll start with this: “Consistency makes your today and tomorrow better than your yesterday.”
So once you start having a better yesterday, it goes to show that you have not been consistent.
Child of God, the truth may be that you are doing the right thing, but you are not consistent with it.
How can you claim to have a prayer life that only works on Monday mornings and Friday evenings, and yet you come to tell us that you have been praying and praying, but nothing is happening in your life?
If you were answered prayers, would you show up that way?
How can you claim to be a business owner, but only post about your business or make time for your customers once a week—and yet you complain that nobody is patronizing you? The simple truth is, nobody even knows you have a business.
From today’s Bible reading, my Bible tells me that Joshua and the children of Israel went around the wall of Jericho for seven days—and seven times on the seventh day—before the wall came down.
Child of God, imagine that level of consistency, backed by the power of God through obedience.
I’m sure if it were some of us, we would have stopped on the fourth day or refused to go around seven times on the seventh day.
So can you see that what you need to add to your prayer life, business, and other areas of your life is consistency—and in the right way?
Child of God, we’ve only seen you do the right thing with your prayer life, business, or education once—and no more.
Be consistent, and see how much and how far you can achieve.
When consistency is in place, time and recognition become advantages.
The value you need to place on yourself now is CONSISTENCY.
So, I have taught us today: anytime your yesterday’s achievements are the only thing people are celebrating, you are lacking consistency.
Are you ready to be consistent with the right and required things?
Child of God, just don’t stop.
Good morning.
